Putu Wijaya' profile and his works

I Gusti Ngurah Putu Wijaya born in Bali, April 11th 1944. He start writing some short stories when he was in Junior High School. After garduation from Junior High School he carry on his study in Singaraja Senior HIgh school. There he was learning drama. After graduation he decided to study in Law Faculty in Gajah Mada University Yogyakarta. there, besides learning laws he was also learning painting and artistry in ASRI and learning drama in ASDRAFI Yogyakarta. There he held some drama with his friends then he joined Bengkel Theater whose leader is Mr. W. S. Rendra.
In 1970he moved to Jakarta became an actor in drama leading by Mr. Arifin C. Noer from small theater and drama leading by Teguh Karya in Popular theater. Finally he has his own theater named Mandiri theater. and he was working as an editor in Tempo Magazine.
In 1973 he was in Jappan with his theater. In 1974 he has a chance to join International Writing Program in Lowa America. In 1975 he played drama in international festival drama at Nancy, French. And he was a great great author... here are some works of his.
